FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!

THE WRITERS’ BLOCK LITERARY POP-UP SHOP & BOOK SIGNING EVENT

“A Community of Authors! Making the World a Better Place, One Word at a Time!”

Presents Our first Informal Community Dialogue on Childhood Bullying!

On June 2, 2018,  parents, students, concerned citizens, and community leaders and activists will engage in an open discussion to address the issue of childhood bullying and what we can do to combat the problem.

Our organization is hosting and carrying out this dialogue on one of the many issues troubling our youth today in hopes of educating parents, children, and adults on the impact bullying has on its victims.  We are expecting this dialogue to address the issue of childhood bullying in our schools and community, explore options and solutions, and identify ways to save our children’s lives and prevent future bullying.

“The bottom-line of the most current research findings is that being involved in bullying

in any way – as a person who bullies, a person who is bullied, or a person who both bullies

and is bullied (bullying-victim) – is one of several important risk factors that appears

to increase  the risk of suicide among youth.”

The Relationship Between Bullying and Suicide:

What we Know and What It Means for Schools,

Center for Disease Control (CDC)

We are not the only ones having this conversation, fueling discussions that will lead to the implementation of action and change. We are looking at the big picture. As a community, we can strengthen and build safer environments for our children to learn, grow and thrive.  The Informal Community Dialogue on Childhood Bullying is designed to create an environment for community members and leaders to meet and find common ground on which we can build strategies for addressing the issue in the home, church, school, and community.
